About The Friendswood Colts

Friendswood Colts Youth Football, Drill and Cheer Program

We were founded in 1973 and are affiliated with the Texas Intercity Football, Inc., the national initiative to help make the sport of football better and safe. The Friendswood Colts is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides an extensive youth tackle football and drill/cheer program to the youth of Friendswood. It is our goal to provide a safe and wholesome atmosphere where kids can learn and practice the ideals of sportsmanship, scholarship, and physical fitness, all while having a good time along the way. Our program stresses learning lessons beyond the football field such as self-discipline, teamwork, concentration, friendship, leadership, and sportsmanship. Our safe exercises, drills, and rules are there to ensure that all kids are physically and mentally prepared for the game of football and cheer leading. We will exercise their bodies and minds in an effort to develop the skills needed in our program and in life.

Colts Football

Friendswood Colts Youth Football is comprised of five football teams, - pee wee through seniors.

We only accept up to 25 players per level. This allows us to  maximize each player's development. There are up to 7 coaches per level which allows more one on one based on position on the team.  Once a child is on a team, they receive reserve status for their remaining years in the program. They will continue to play with the same teammates for up to five years.

Lady Colts

Our Lady Colts program is made up of two levels.

Mini Colts are those aged 4 to 7 years old as of Sept. 1. During their time in this program, they will learn the fundamentals of cheer. Learning their jumps, stunts, and how to be in front of big crowd. At the end of the season, they will go to competition and compete in a showcase. They will learn responsibility, and what it takes to move forward in becoming a lady colt.

Lady Colts are those aged 8 to 13 as of Sept. 1. This level is structured for girls determined to learn about and participate in drill and cheer. It is a constructive after school activity that develops skills in teamwork, discipline, and leadership. We provide opportunities to promote self-esteem, confidence, and coordination. At the end of season, they will perform in a competition.
